Who is Whindersson Nunes?

He was born in Palmeira do Piaui in January 1995 and grew up in Bom Jesus, in Piaui, one of the poorest states in Brazil and a long way from where the country's entertainment gets made. He started making videos at fifteen. In 2012 a parody he made was seen millions of times inside a week, which is the moment most creators wait years for.
In January 2013 his original channel was hacked. Everything he had built was gone, and he was eighteen. He launched a new channel and started again from nothing. That second channel now has forty four point seven million subscribers and is the fifty ninth most subscribed in the world. He passed ten million in July 2016 and became the most subscribed channel in Brazil less than three months later, a position he held until Canal KondZilla went past him.
He did not stay in one form. He acted in films including Os Parcas and in Ice Age: Collision Course, performed stand up around the country, and moved from comedy parodies into trap and hip hop as Lil Whind, with a debut album, Piaui, in 2020. He made his amateur boxing debut in 2019, competed in the Kingpyn High Stakes Tournament in 2023, and lost professional fights to My Mate Nate and to Neeraj Goyat, both by unanimous decision.
