Who is Leila Hormozi?

She turned a hard start into companies that scale.

She was born in 1992 in Michigan, a first-generation Iranian-American. Her early years were turbulent, a chapter she has since spoken about openly, and by her late teens the road she was on was going nowhere good. The turn she made from it is the first real point of her line. She gave up the old patterns, took up fitness and study, and rebuilt her days around discipline rather than mood, later putting it plainly that she aims for discipline over motivation because one is a feeling and the other is a habit.

In 2014 she finished a degree in kinesiology and exercise science, and the next year moved to California to start a career in fitness. Within a year she was among the top personal trainers in her region, and it was through that world that she met Alex Hormozi. The two became partners in life and in work, and over roughly four years they founded and scaled several companies, Gym Launch, Prestige Labs and others, past a hundred million dollars in cumulative sales across software, services, e-commerce and gyms, without taking outside money. Her particular gift was the part many founders neglect: the systems, the hiring and the management that let a company grow without breaking.

In 2020 she and Alex founded Acquisition.com, a firm that buys into companies and helps them grow, and she led it as chief executive while he focused on teaching in public. She built it into a portfolio well past two hundred million dollars in yearly revenue, and in 2026 moved up to Executive Chairwoman so a new chief executive could run the day to day while she shaped what came next. Alongside the building she became one of the most followed voices on how to lead, sharing what she learned on her podcast Build. Her line is worth reading because the hardest chapter was near the start, and everything after it is what she made once she decided to begin again.
